Testimonials

Dear Dr. Burke & Staff,

I just wanted to express my appreciation for such a wonderful job. After a couple of visits with other doctors it was such a relief to find you guys. From the initial call to the personal touches by Dr. Burke after the surgery, we were quite pleased to say the least. Everything from the waiting room, the staff, and the personal touches from everyone went above our standards. Hopefully, we will never need to come back but if a problem ever arises, we will know where to turn. We also let our pediatrician know how great everyone was. Thank you again and please continue your excellent care because it is so hard to find.

Yours Truly, The Johnson Family

What can I say about this doctor??

I suffered from Graves disease, causing me to experience double vision with one eye severely misaligned. Dr. Burke was able to correct my vision, using two separate surgeries, and with the implementationof prisms in my lens prescription, I am now able to see better than 20/20!!!!!!
I cannot say enough about Dr. Burke. He has a very pleasant and professional approach to eye muscle disorders and SAVED my eyesight!!!!
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Miles Burke to any adult or parent whose children are in need of eye surgery.

Take care and god bless, Sylvia

Dear Dr. Burke,

The reason for this letter is just to thank you for how generous you are in the care that you offer to your patients. I have been seeing you for as long as I can remember, and I know that I have always felt comfortable coming to see you. Thank you for your patience, your ability to listen and respond kindly to any concerns, and best of all your warmth and genuine concern for me. Sometimes you may be running behind, or a little off schedule, but it never shows. I know you will spend the right amount of time needed to get a thorough and complete diagnosis of my concurs or condition.

Thanks for caring. Thanks for being a great doctor. I wish you could do the type of surgery I am interested in. I would do it in a heartbeat even if I would have to pay out of pocket! Thanks for who you are and what you do. Many other doctors could learn a great deal from you.

Sincerely, Sheila

Dear Dr. Burke,

I wanted to send you a sincere thank you for the care and compassion that you extended to my three children and to me during their stay at the Good Samaritan Hospital NICU.

I always had complete confidence in your diagnostic and management skills concerning their ROP, and I was very appreciative of your candid, yet cautious approach. During our follow up appointments, I found your office staff to be extremely courteous and dutiful in keeping up with insurance companies.

Having a premature baby, and in my case three babies, is a very terrifying time in a mother’s life. But, I can assure you, having the option to choose the best physician to care for your children helps relieve some of the stress.

We will see you December for their follow up appointments.

Sincerely, Sheila M.D.

Thank you for seeing my daughter, Anna, Yesterday. I really appreciate taking time from your lunch to reassure a worried mom. I was very impressed with you, your staff, and even your space. Your kindness and professionalism did not go unnoticed.

Thank You! Shana

Dr. Burke,

We can not thank you enough for fixing Cory’s eye. He is so excited to have a normal looking eye and seeing normal. You have given him the ability to be successful at school and in life, and he hopes one day “he can make miracles happen just like you!” We are so grateful.

Thank you, Sara

Dear Dr. Burke,

I am not sure where to begin or what to say. How can you even begin to find the right words to thank such a wonderful, caring, gifted doctor as yourself for all you have done for Allison. You have given Allison the greets gift we could all ask for, her eyes! We give you our deepest thanks and gratitude and truly much more. This whole world is a better place because you are in it. We thank god for blessing you with your talents and gift. Dr. Burke, you are “one in a million”. No one shines brighter in the eyes of this family than you!

Many thanks for everything, Sandi and Family

Dr. Burke,

My 11-month-old son, Ryan, recently was in your care to have his tear duct opened. Everything went very well & I think Ryan is very happy that I no longer chase him with a tissue to clean his eye! So, I not only want to thank you for a successful procedure, but for the personal care you also gave. You were excellent with Ryan, which made us both comfortable. I was also comforted not just by your caring ways but also by being so well informed. I appreciated that each step of the process was explained I knew what to expect. I understand that this procedure was minor, however I appreciate that we were not treated as such. Thank you for understanding that to a parent no treatment is “minor” for their child. Thank you for your gentle kindness & sincerity in taking care of my most precious gift. I knew he was in good hands & that means everything.

Thank You! Ryan’s Mommy: Jaclyn

Dear Dr. Burke,

About 2 years ago you operated on my granddaughter’s eyes. She is Katie and she is in high school now. Dr. Burke, you changed her life. She had been so self conscious of her problem. Some boys at school said mean things to he about her eyes and that really hurt. Katie is a happy, well adjusted teenager. Thanks to you her life now and in the future is brighter and can be normal. We thank you so much.

Sincerely, Paula

Hello,

You are receiving this letter because of the especially significant role you have played in my life and the lasting positive impact you have had on me. My family and I invite you to join us in the spirit of celebration as I graduate from high school.

For the past four years, I have kept very busy with a variety of activities . I have been a part of choir at school since freshman year, and was co-president of my school’s top concert choir, Chamber Singers, my senior year. I also performed in four school musicals most recently flaying Miss Lynch in Grease and Velma in West Side Story. I am a member of National Honor Society and rank in the top 30 of my graduating class.

Outside of school, I have been active in church youth group, Girl Scouts, and Y-Press, a local youth news organization. I have built houses for Habitat for Humanity with my youth group for two summers, and I traveled with Y-Press to present at the Society of Professional Journalists national conference in Florida.

The summer after my junior year, I lived and studied at St. Brieuc, France, as part of a program through Indiana University. I stayed with a host family, visited Normandy and Paris, and committed myself to the program’s no-English rule. It was an unforgettable experience that changed m e forever as I discovered my capabilities and expanded my view of the world.

In the fastest and slowest way possible, four incredible years are coming to a close, and I am ready to move on. I will be attending Washington University in St. Louis to study Psychology and French. I am considering a career in adolescent counseling, plan to join an a cappella group, and would love to spend a semester in Australia.

My family and I would like to thank you for all your support.

Love, Olivia

Dear Dr. Burke,

Thank you so much for seeing Sam this week! While we were somewhat distraught leaving your office, we are extremely grateful that you were able to send us to see Dr. ***** in less than 24 hrs! We are so reassured that under yours & his care, our Sam’s vision will be able toeventually be restored! Thank you so much!

Gratefully, Lee, Beth & Sam

Dear Dr. Burke,

Thank you so much for your wonderful care of Claire. I am very impressed with your office, staff and enthusiastic care of children. We very much appreciate seeing us so quickly, explaining so well and & allowing Claire to “play” through the exam!

Warmest Regards, Laura

Dear Dr. Burke,

Thank you very much for meeting with us today and for examining and treating Logan. I was extremely impressed with the manner in which you promptly and personally greeted your patients, and then you put Logan at such ease during his exam that he didn’t even want to leave your playground environment. Logan, by nature, is very shy around all people and is especially uncomfortable during medical exams. I have a feeling that you may have helped him to overcome that discomfort this morning. As a parent yourself, I am sure you understand how appreciated such gestures are.

My lifelong best friend is an ophthalmologist from New Jersey and she agrees 100% with your medical advice, but no one needs to concur that your bedside manner is the very best I have ever seen. While I’m sure my husband would choose you for his own ophthalmologist if you treated adult astigmatism, on behalf of all moms, I hope you stay in the pediatric business for a very long time to come.

Again, we are very grateful for both your kindness and your excellent medical advice.
Sincerely,
Karen and Mark

Dr. Burke,

This is John ****, you did a couple of eye surgeries on me recently. Over the last couple of months , I’ve come further along than I ever dreamed possible. After doing some short and long range eye exercises, I am now able to go outside on a bright day without sunglasses, drive at night without anti-glare glasses, and the big one – work in front of the computer without glasses or a glare guard. I honestly never thought I would be able to do any of these things again. Still get a little dizzy at the computer (not enough to hinder my doing too much). So not 100% yet, but this is better than I could have hoped for. And thank God no more medication. I just want to send you a thank you note because I can’t put into words how grateful I am for all you’ve done for me. In a way, you gave me my life back. We’re almost there. probably need to relax the brain somehow, like you said. Thank you so much Dr. Burke, and at the risk of sounding really gay, you’re like an angel to me.

Thanks again, John

Dr. Burke and Staff,

Thank you all for the help you gave me with my surgery. It means so much to me. I’m so happy with the way things went. I look like a whole new me.

Thank you, Jessica

Dr. Burke,

I just want to tell you thank you for everything you have done for me. I’m so happy with the way my eye surgery turned out. So I just wanted to say thank you.

Thanks, Jessica

Dr. Burke,

I wanted to let you know that I made my way through college. I also wanted to let you know that without you this wouldn’t have been possible. As I get older the more I come to appreciate everything you have done for my family and also myself. I will never be able to thank you enough, but know that I am not taking my vision for granted and yes, I do have my glasses on!

Take care and god bless, Jennifer

Dr. Burke,

I still remember vividly about 17 years ago your handing me kleenex and reassuring me you could fix Olivia’s eyes after I had been decimated by some doctor in Richmond. Your kindness and your skills meant so much to us.Thank you again so much. May we wish you the best for you and your loved ones.

Sincerely, Helen
